Art historian from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Doctor of art history from the Sorbonne (Paris I) with a thesis on Surrealism in Belgium (1950-1993). Professor of art history since 1984 at the École supérieure des Arts plastiques et visuels de Mons “Arts2”. Lecturer at the Université de Mons UCL since 2014.
He directed the Collection of the Province of Hainaut from 1987 to 2000.
He has directed the Musée de la Photographie de la Communauté française in Charleroi since March 2000.
Curator in 2004 for the French Community of the Sao Paulo Biennale (Brazil).
Author of various books or essays in the field of art history.
Member of the Expert Committee for the work of René Magritte-Fondation René Magritte.
