To bring – workshop (general)

Bring your camera with a fully charged battery and enough memory cards for a full day of shooting.

For the editing and review session, bring a laptop or tablet with your preferred editing software installed.

Wear comfortable shoes — the workshop involves a lot of walking.

An alternative approach to traditional street photography, blending busy pedestrian thoroughfares with quieter city areas — alleys, backyards, bland commercial centres, and the mundane urban fabric of Brussels. Leaning more into Friedlander formality than Winogrand busyness.

The emphasis is on walking, looking, and converting the visual world into meaningful frames. Blake will observe you in action, peek at photos on your camera back, and provide constructive advice throughout the day. Unconventional and unorthodox methods are actively encouraged — bad, wrong, or uncomfortable photos are welcome. Expect to explore photographic layering, flash, lyric documentary, iPhone panoramics, wrong turns, texture, foliage, and more.

Open to all skill levels, styles, and backgrounds.
