This workshop is aimed at those who wish to improve their street photography skills by sharing 3 intensive days with one of the most renowned photographers from the street photography scene, Matt Stuart.

As a participant, you should expect to explore the city and streets of Brussels, see Matt at work with his camera to learn tricks and tips on how to get closer to your subjects while doing street photography. This workshop also covers a part of how to edit your work, and what makes a good photo and not such a good photo. This is a very complete workshop aimed at improving your skills as a street photographer, from being out in the streets taking photos to checking your work, doing group editing, getting feedback, having drinks, and making new friends.

The workshop starts every day at 10 in the morning (10:00) and finishes at around 6 in the afternoon (18:00).

Morning to meet and greet and go through participants work, talk about expectations, etc. Afternoon to take pictures.

Morning to continue taking pictures, meeting in the afternoon to review work, continue to take pictures in the evening.

Please notice that this is only a potential schedule of the workshop and it is subject to change, and it’s only meant to give you an idea of the intensity you should expect.

Participants should bring a portfolio of their pictures to the workshop (between 10 to 20 images on an USB drive in jpg/jpeg format).

To bring

  • – Your favorite camera to take pictures, most preferably a digital camera. Remember to bring enough batteries and an empty memory card with enough space to take pictures during the workshop.
  • – A laptop with software to edit/tone your images.
  • – A notebook to take down notes during the workshop (optional).
  • – A portfolio of your pictures (10 to 20 images in USB drive in jpg/jpeg format).
  • – Lots of energy and will to learn!

Travel & Accommodation

Participants are expected to make their own arrangements regarding travel and accommodation. Check our Visit Brussels page for more information about the city. Please ensure you have the necessary travel documents & relevant visas in order to attend the event. The BSPF can provide letters of support where necessary.

Participants need to enroll in order to confirm their spot. First come first serve basis. Pay below to secure your spot on time.

The BSPF is not responsible for reimbursement of travel expenses in case a workshop is cancelled. We recommend that you buy refundable air tickets and/or travel insurance.

The BSPF reserves the right to cancel groups with less than 8 participants. Students will be given either a full refund or offered a place with an alternative photographer. In the event of a cancellation, participants will be given at least 10 days advance notice.
