This workshop is ideal for intermediate to advanced photographers and will be beneficial to anyone looking to push the boundaries of their photography and to embark on purpose-driven documentary projects.

Overview & Considerations
The workshop starts every day at 10 in the morning (10:00) and finishes at around 6 in the afternoon (18:00). There will be coffee breaks and a lunch break each day.
Introduction to the workshop.
Review of participant portfolio.
Lecture: History of photography or photographer’s history?
Where to look for inspiration in personal documentary photographic projects?
Presentation of selected materials. Research, formal choices, working with people, and implementation of long-term projects.
Lecture: What does long mean?
Methods of implementing long-term projects.
Lecture: Contemporary forms of visual storytelling
The boundaries of photojournalism.
Workshop exercise: Reportage
Explanation of the photographic task
Reportage language – “dictionary” practice
Presentation and critic of the photos taken during the workshop
Discussion: What’s next?
Brainstorming around possible implementations of the students’ projects to come
The Masterclass consists of indoors and outdoors sessions.
Participants should bring a portfolio of their pictures to the workshop (about 20 images on a USB drive in jpg/jpeg format).

The BSPF is not responsible for reimbursement of travel expenses in case a workshop is canceled. We recommend that you buy refundable air tickets and/or travel insurance.
The BSPF reserves the right to cancel groups with less than 6 participants. Students will be given either a full refund or offered a place with an alternative photographer. In the event of a cancellation, participants will be given at least 10 days advance notice.
