Street Photography and Mindfulness with Barry Talis
Being mindful while photographing on the street can help us express ourselves better and enjoy the experience much more. In This workshop Barry Talis will share his attitude and techniques shooting street photography.
We will explore how mindfulness can help us:
- – Find our artistic voice and recognize interesting scenes and on the street.
- – Lessen our fear of photographing strangers & Defusing difficulties and situations.
- – Develop the correct work process.
The workshop can be divided into three segments: the introduction of a theoretical framework along with a group discussion, Shoot with Barry in the streets of Brussels, and a photo review.

Overview & Considerations
The workshop starts every day at 10 in the morning (10:00) and finishes at around 6 in the afternoon (18:00). There will be coffee breaks and a lunch break each day.
The workshop will start in a classroom with all participants on Thursday morning. In the afternoon, the group will go out and take pictures until the day is finished. On Friday morning, the group will continue taking pictures to then meet once again in the classroom in the afternoon to do work review and finish the workshop.
To participate in this workshop, no previous experience is required. Good knowledge of your camera and camera settings is however highly recommended.
Students should prepare a small portfolio presentation of about 10 pictures ahead of the workshop.
Please consider all this before applying to the workshop.
- – A laptop with software to edit/tone your images.
- – A notebook to take down notes during the workshop (optional).
- – A portfolio of your pictures (around 10 pictures).
- – Lots of energy and will to learn!

Early bird only at 215 EUR (Until August 15th).
After August 15th: 250 EUR.
Travel & Accommodation
Participants are expected to make their own arrangements regarding travel and accommodation. Check our Visit Brussels page for more information about the city. Please ensure you have the necessary travel documents & relevant visas in order to attend the event. The BSPF can provide letters of support where necessary.

Participants need to enroll to confirm their spot. First come first serve basis. Pay below to secure your spot on time.
The BSPF is not responsible for reimbursement of travel expenses in case a workshop is canceled. We recommend that you buy refundable air tickets and/or travel insurance.
The BSPF reserves the right to cancel groups with less than 6 participants. Students will be given either a full refund or offered a place with an alternative photographer. In the event of a cancellation, participants will be given at least 10 days advance notice.
